Apollo 11 est une mission spatiale américaine lancée le 16 juillet 1969. C’est la première mission qui a permis d’envoyer trois hommes sur la Lune et de les ramener sur Terre sains et saufs. La mission a été lancée depuis le centre spatial Kennedy situé en Floride. L’objectif de cette mission était de faire le premier atterrissage d’astronautes sur la Lune, mais aussi de récupérer les échantillons de roches lunaires.

Apollo 11 is an American space mission launched on July 16, 1969. It was the first mission that sent three men to the Moon and brought them back to Earth safe and sound. The mission was launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The objective of this mission was to make the first landing of astronauts on the Moon, but also to recover samples of lunar rocks.

Depuis la nuit des temps, l'humanité contemple le ciel nocturne et s'imagine marcher sur la surface lunaire. Le premier astronaute à y parvenir a été Neil Armstrong le 20 juillet 1969, lorsqu'il est devenu le premier humain à poser le pied sur le sol lunaire. Environ 650 millions de personnes ont regardé l'image télévisée d'Armstrong et ont entendu sa voix décrire l'événement alors qu'il faisait "... un petit pas pour un homme, un pas de géant pour l'humanité".

The first astronaut to achieve this was Neil Armstrong on July 20, 1969, when he became the first human to set foot on lunar soil. An estimated 650 million people watched Armstrong's televised image and heard his voice describe the event as he took "...one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind".

The creation of the Apollo 11 space program was a political tactic during the Cold War space race between nations to show their technological superiority. This is why American President Kennedy announced, in 1961, his desire to see a man walk on the Moon and to see him return to American soil before the end of the decade.

Le programme Artemis de la NASA a pour objectif principal de ramener les humains sur la Lune, en particulier au pôle sud lunaire, d'ici 2025. The last person to walk on the moon was Eugene Cernan in 1972. Nevertheless, we plan to return. NASA's Artemis program has the primary goal of returning humans to the Moon, specifically to the lunar south pole, by 2025. The US space program is part of a larger effort to advance American science and technology on behalf of American industry and economy.
